JULY 6, 2016: PROJECT/OBJECT will be back on the road for a brief run, SEP 30 thru OCT 23 2016.
We will hit the Northeast USA, out to the Great Lakes area, (Sorry CA, CO, OR, WA, AZ, TX! We are really trying to find a way to get out there --stay tuned and keep feeding us venue ideas!!)
This run features our longtime touring partner and perennial Zappa fan favorite IKE WILLIS. Also on board for the first time since 2004: our dear friend, synthesizer legend and as Ike calls him "my big brother"... DON PRESTON !
This tour will of course feature material both men recorded with The Mothers Of Invention 1966-1974 (Don) and The Frank Zappa band 1978-1988 (Ike), as well as material they perhaps didn't play on initially, but performed live with Zappa. Some of them are just songs the guys enjoy playing! Either way -- don't miss this special combination of beloved Zappa Alumni, who just happen to be old friends, and touring pals with P/O way back.
In this, the 50 year Anniversary since Zappa's debut album FREAK OUT, we once again humbly give THANKS and pay tribute to the enormous body of work he left.

PROJECT/OBJECT -APRIL 2016 -TOUR POSTPONED
(now rescheduled for SEP/OCT 2016, dates above!)
It is with a heavy heart that we announce cancellation/postponement of the APRIL 2016 Project/Object dates.
All 21 concerts from April 7- May 1 are hereby postponed to the fall.
Thank you for supporting the band since the late 1990s.
As you may know we have NEVER cancelled a tour. This is not done easily.
Deepest apologies for any inconveniences, wrecked travel plans, purchased tickets Etc.

Details have been on Facebook for a while now, but in brief, a medical emergency that has continued to be an issue has made it impossible to do this tour. Robin Gelberg, crew member/merch/Production Assistant was in a bad accident in early March and the complications from that, health and otherwise, create a situation where we must postpone. Robin's partner is bandleader Andre Cholmondeley, it has become impossible for him to leave either for the tour.
Thank you so much for your incredible & ongoing support.
A few things we'd love to share with you since this accident:
1. PLEASE wear your seatbelts. Robin say that as the car flipped around and tossed against trees until coming to a halt on its side, she was at least strapped into the seat securely. Injuries, as bad as they were, could have been much worse or fatal.
2. The tow truck guy told us he is seeing several accidents a week now...caused by things flying off off vehicles. Bikes, tools, furniture, 2x4s, equipment of all sorts. Too many people are NOT securing items. So....look out!! If you can, DO NOT follow vehicles with stuff attached, even seemingly professional vehicles as seems to be the case here.
3. There is a GoFundMe setup to help Robin defray costs beyond insurance etc. She is now out of work for several months, dealing with extra expense, rehab, and of course her car was totaled in the accident. Any small amount is massively appreciated in this time.

OCTOBER 2015 TOUR NORTHEAST USA
Project/Object, founded in the mid 1990s by guitarist André Cholmondeley, is the longest running alumni-based Zappa tribute in the world. Over the past twenty years they have proudly hosted onstage more Zappa alumni than anyone other than Zappa himself. Their legendary tours of the USA, Canada, and Europe have helped pave the way for a rich variety of excellent, contemporary Zappa tributes.
Project/Object is the band that brought most of the currently touring Zappa band alumni out of retirement and onto the road. They are back in action in October 2015 with a special tour to celebrate the ever popular late 70s Zappa catalog.
At the helm on this October 2015 tour are two of Frank's most-recorded guitarist/vocalists:
Ike Willis, the voice of ‘Joe’s Garage’ and ‘Thingfish', was Zappa's lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for virtually every tour and album from 1978 thru the final FZ tour in 1988. Ike's booming baritone is hands down the most requested presence by fans, worldwide. In 2015 Ike will guest on shows & festivals in Germany, Holland, the USA and Brazil.
Denny Walley was one of Zappa's closest and oldest friends, they met in high school in Lancaster CA. Denny is also well known for his work with Captain Beefheart, he played slide on the epic ‘Bongo Fury’ album, documenting the 1975 Zappa/Beefheart tour. His legendary slide guitar work appears on ‘Joe's Garage’ and many others. For years Denny also toured and recorded with THE MAGIC BAND, a Beefheart tribute featuring all Capt. Beefheart alums.
Project/Object welcomes them both back to the stage !
